January: Tech Trends in Michigan

glimaWest held its January event, entitled "Tech Trends in Michigan; What Does The Future Hold?", on Jan. 29 at the Eberhard Center at Grand Valley State University.

George Boresma, Director of Technology Partnerships for the State of Michigan, discussed the role of state government in information technology in Michigan. He also discussed the future of information technology in Michigan; how it is impacted by the the business climate of the state; what the state government is doing to support economic development and information technology; and Governor Granholm's "Cool Cities Initiative" utilizing "cool" technology and how it affects companies and local governments across Michigan.

A panel discussion of the topic by representatives from glima chapters across the state followed the discussion.
