aimWest’s name reflects our goal of having technology innovators & entrepreneurs “aim” their focus back on “West Michigan”.
A non-profit organization, we host monthly educational and networking events in West Michigan to help connect the various groups, industries, and people in our community.
To facilitate education and conversation focused on the future of technology and its impact on business.
A group of Web professionals in Grand Rapids, Michigan started the organization in late 2000. They recognized the lack of support for local interactive technology professionals, and wanted to provide a resource and participation experience that had not previously offered in the West Michigan area. In 2007, the organization renamed itself to aimWest.
Events and Community
aimWest also provides educational, networking, and community outreach opportunities to our individual and corporate members. Our regular meetings are hosted on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. We hold 8-9 learning events per year, which include a short networking session along with a presentation or panel discussion.
Our free Networking events provide an excellent informal networking opportunity for members and guests to mingle and make new connections.
Our events consistently draw attendance of 80 or more people, with our larger events pulling in 300+.
aimWest events feature a diverse group of attendees and members working in a wide variety of industries (technology, marketing, management, business development, creative (music/art/yoga), construction, recruiting, and design.
