aimWest & Artprize – September Networking Event

Wednesday, September 20, 2017

Come Explore ArtPrize and West Michigan with aimWest!

Instead of a networking event this month, the aimWest Board invites you to join a “Walking Tour” of ArtPrize on the official opening day of its ninth year!

ArtPrize is the most radical art competition in the country, with thousands of artists displaying their exhibits throughout hundreds of venues in downtown Grand Rapids.

Join your aimWest friends as we explore the city as a group, talk about art, technology, and community while meeting new people and exploring our vibrant city!

The aimWest Board will be wearing their usual bright yellow aimWest nametags so that you can  easily identify our group.

The tour will begin at 5:30pm at the UICA building (2 Fulton St. W), then move to various venues along Fulton, making our way to the Skywalk, to the DeVos Convention Center, and finally back around toward the GRAM (subject to change based on weather).

Estimated walking tour time: 2 hours

There is no registration for this event; you are welcome to join/leave as desired.

Parking suggestions:

Street meters (enforced until 6pm), paid-for parking lots, or use the DASH Lot 7 ($2) and ride the free DASH WEST Shuttle Bus downtown (map) (DASH Details)

aimWest Tour Guides:

Jim Czerew, President of aimWest
James Czerew, aimWest President.
James has led many ArtPrize group tours and his knowledge of art, technology, and community will bring additional insight and an interesting perspective to this tour.

Christina Bouwens, aimWest Vice President.
Christina is a multi-year ArtPrize volunteer, and is happy to do her best to answer your ArtPrize questions (her love for ArtPrize – and GR – runs very deep).
